Some FYI for your four-legged friends!
Pet-Friendly Parks
(Click name for Links)
Fortuna Dog Park
Fully fenced and maintained regularly, this is a great place to go socialize your well-behaved dogs off-leash that’s nearby.
Rohner Park
With walking trails through the redwoods behind the Skate Rink/Rec Hall (to the right and back when you pull in to the parking lot) to the “loop” that circles large fields ready for some fetch, this place has multiple options for you and your pet. Just an fyi, three trips around the baseball field loop is almost exactly one mile!
Newburg Park
Wake up and walk right across the street to find large grassy fields, flat walking trails, and pet-friendly drinking fountains. As you head further up Newburg Road from the park, a newer marsh area with a combined two miles of walking trail is available for your enjoyment by the Gene Lucas Community Center, McClean Campus. Open to the public all hours, its a peaceful walk and you may even find an otter or two when the water levels rise.
Russ Park, Ferndale
About 15 minutes from the house, this is a beautiful hike with multiple trail options for varying length/times. Home to a mature Sitka Spruce forest, its an absolutely beautiful hike no matter which you choose!

The start of many beautiful adventures!

Park off the Street or in the River Lodge Conference Center parking lot and enjoy crushed gravel trails and riverside views.
Dog Training and Socialization Classes
Janna Campillo of Redwood K9 Academy hosts many 3-6 week classes and even pop-up classes designed to socialize your pup of all ages, get some exercise as a group, and reinforce/teach good training habits to take with you on your next adventure. Schedules are constantly being updated, it’s also a great way to meet other animal parents in the area!
